Responding to What Students Need Now
Each year, the Elizabethtown Area Education Foundation works in partnership with the Elizabethtown Area School District to identify focused priorities where philanthropic support can make a meaningful difference for students.
For the 2026–27 school year, the Foundation is seeking support for two important initiatives: the District’s Facility Dog Program and a refresh of the Elizabethtown Area High School greenhouse.
Facility Dog Program
Say hello to Murphy, Josh, Remi, Kolben, and Sabrina—EASD’s beloved Facility Dogs.
These trained working dogs support students who may be experiencing barriers to learning in the educational setting. They help create positive physical, mental-health, and social benefits for students and staff, offering an immediate and tangible source of comfort, connection, and support.
The annual cost to train, maintain, and care for the District’s Facility Dogs is $35,000. This includes food, veterinary care, medications, equipment, and continued skill development. Monthly and one-time gifts help keep these important resources healthy, well cared for, and ready to support students when they are needed most.
Important: If the Facility Dog Program is discontinued, or if the full funding goal cannot be met, gifts designated for this initiative will be redirected to the Foundation’s Comfort & Care Fund. Those funds will continue to support student wellness, care, and support services across the District.

Greenhouse Refresh
EASD’s Agriculture Education program gives students meaningful, hands-on opportunities to learn, grow, and build practical skills. After many productive seasons, the Elizabethtown Area High School greenhouse is in need of a critical refresh—beginning with a new greenhouse covering.
The cost of this project is $10,000. Your support will help ensure that more than 175 students can continue learning in a safe, high-quality environment designed for exploration, skill development, and real-world agricultural experience.
Monthly sustaining gifts will help refresh the greenhouse and support future critical improvements to the agriculture program.
Important: If the greenhouse-refresh project is fully funded, cannot be completed as planned, or the full funding goal cannot be met, gifts designated for this initiative will be redirected to the Foundation’s Harvest Forward Fund Those funds will continue to support long-term needs within EASD agricultural education programs.
