Investing Today in Tomorrow’s Needs
The Elizabethtown Area Education Foundation’s Sustainability Funds are designed to help address long-term financial needs that are predictable, significant, and not included in the District’s annual operating budget.
These funds help prepare for high-cost program replacements, upgrades, and enhancements that occur over time. By investing early and intentionally, donors can help ensure that important student opportunities remain strong and sustainable for future generations.
Each Sustainability Fund is built to support long-term planning. When a current priority is identified within a particular fund, the Foundation may also designate a near-term need for donor support. These needs are reviewed annually and may change from year to year.
At the same time, every Sustainability Fund helps build resources for larger needs expected over a longer cycle. This long-term planning allows the Foundation to prepare strategically for future program costs, even when there is no immediate need in a particular area.
Together, the funds help the Foundation build resources over time and sustain the programs, experiences, and support that help EASD students learn, grow, and thrive.

Foundations for Learning Fund
The Foundations for Learning Fund supports innovation and advancement within the District’s core general education programs. It helps fund new instructional strategies, emerging technologies, pilot initiatives, and classroom enhancements that expand learning opportunities across the District.
Examples of future needs this fund may support include:
- Expansion of the Think BIG program
- Growth of Career & Workforce Readiness opportunities
- District-identified targeted initiatives
Support the Foundations for Learning Fund
Harvest Forward Fund
The Harvest Forward Fund supports long-term replacement and upgrade needs within EASD agricultural education programs. It helps ensure students have access to safe, modern, and industry-relevant equipment, learning environments, and resources.
Examples of future needs this fund may support include:
- Greenhouse refreshes and upgrades
- Animal and veterinary science manipulatives
- Watering and irrigation systems
- Growing systems for agricultural education
- Major equipment replacement and program-infrastructure updates, such as a tractor

Forge the Future Fund
The Forge the Future Fund provides sustainability support for welding and skilled-trades equipment. It helps ensure students have access to current, industry-standard tools and technology while supporting long-term program renewal.
Examples of future needs this fund may support include:
- Welding-lab refreshes, upkeep, and modernization
- Improved ventilation systems
- Planned replacement of welding equipment and tools
- Modernization of lab spaces and infrastructure
Support the Forge the Future Fund
Champions for Change Fund
The Champions for Change Fund supports replacement costs that help maintain safe, competitive, and high-quality experiences for EASD student-athletes. The fund is intended to supplement—not replace—District-budgeted expenditures. Revenue from District marketing and advertising sales may also contribute to this fund.
Examples of future needs this fund may support include:
- Scoreboard replacements
- Windscreen replacements
- Artificial-turf replacement reserves
- Other long-term athletic-facility needs
Support the Champions for Change Fund
Harmony for Generations Fund
The Harmony for Generations Fund supports the long-term sustainability of EASD visual and performing arts programs through planned replacement of instruments, equipment, and performance resources.
Examples of future needs this fund may support include:
- Auditorium soundboards and audio equipment
- Stage-curtain systems
- Lighting equipment
- Large instrument purchases
- Other essential performance resources

Comfort & Care Fund
The Comfort & Care Fund supports long-term student-support initiatives that promote emotional well-being, safety, and access to care. Funding helps ensure the continuity and strategic growth of programs that address mental health, crisis response, and student-wellness needs across the District.
Examples of future needs this fund may support include:
- The Facility Dog Program
- Crisis and trauma counseling services
- Growth and continuation of the Bear Bags Food Program
- Specialized student-support resources and services
