Investing in What Students Need Most
The Elizabethtown Area Education Foundation works in partnership with the Elizabethtown Area School District to help turn important needs into meaningful opportunities for students.
Some needs are immediate and change from year to year. Others require sustained support over time. Still others call for a community-wide investment in facilities that will serve students for generations. Through the generosity of donors and community partners, the Foundation helps advance each of these priorities.
Targeted Initiatives
Each year, the Foundation works with District leaders to identify focused priorities where philanthropic support can make a meaningful difference for students.
For the 2026–27 school year, the Foundation is seeking support for:
- The District’s Facility Dog Program
- Upgrades to the agriculture program’s greenhouse
These initiatives reflect current needs across EASD and may change from year to year as new opportunities and challenges emerge.

Sustainability Funds
The Foundation’s Sustainability Funds allow donors to make long-term, designated investments in the programs and experiences that help EASD students thrive.
These funds are designed to prepare for significant future needs—such as equipment replacement, program upgrades, and specialized resources—that occur over predictable cycles but are not part of the District’s annual operating budget. By building resources over time, the Foundation can help sustain important opportunities for students today and for generations to come.
While some funds may have a current or near-term priority, each is also intended to support larger future needs as they arise. Priorities are reviewed regularly in partnership with the District and may evolve as programs and student needs change.
Current Sustainability Funds support:
- Academic programs and instructional innovation
- Agricultural education
- Welding and skilled trades
- Athletics
- Visual and performing arts
- Student support services, wellness, and care

Think BIG
Through the Foundation’s Think BIG program, EASD schools can pursue funding for an identified area of significant need.
In partnership with Masonic Village of Elizabethtown, Think BIG is a competitive grant program that provides selected school buildings with two years of support to help bring meaningful ideas and needed improvements to life. Funding is limited, allowing the Foundation and its partners to make a focused and lasting impact in the schools selected.

Ongoing Student Support
Some opportunities require consistent community support year after year. The Foundation helps sustain programs that meet students’ ongoing needs, strengthen their preparation for life after high school, and remove barriers to success.
Current areas of ongoing support include:
- Bear Bags, which helps eligible students access nutritious food on weekends and during school breaks
- Career & Workforce Readiness, including cooperative work experiences, Career and Technology Center participation, and EASD’s welding and agriculture programs

Capital Giving
Capital giving allows the Foundation to partner with the District and community on major projects that create long-term benefits for students.
Most recently, the Foundation helped lead the Investing in Our Children, Our Community, Our Future Capital Campaign, which supported improvements to Jane Hoover Field, including the original installation of artificial turf; improvements to the District’s main stadium, track, and field complex; and new tennis courts.
While there is no active capital campaign at this time, the Foundation remains positioned to partner with the District and community when future major needs arise.
