At the start of each school year, Elizabethtown Area School District hosts Back-to-School Parent Nights at each school. These events let parents/guardians meet teachers, tour classrooms, and get essential information for a successful year.

While the District does not offer before- and after-school programs, GEARS provides them on location at Bainbridge, East High, and Bear Creek Elementary Schools for grades 1-5, and offers Kindergarten services at the GEARS Kid Center.

Bus route information will be emailed one to two weeks before the start of school and will include your child's bus number, stop location, and pick-up and drop-off times. Please review this information carefully to ensure a smooth start to the school year.

The Community Portal gives families convenient access to student information in one secure location. View attendance, schedules, report cards, update contact information, complete online forms, and stay connected throughout the school year.

The 2026-2027 calendar-at-a-glance is a one-page, printable calendar showing school days, scheduled school closures and early dismissals, testing dates, and make-up days. For the full event calendar, click on our website's 'calendar' tab.

Families are encouraged to review Free and Reduced Lunch income guidelines and apply if eligible. The online application opens August 10, 2026. Please note that a new application must be submitted each school year, even if benefits were received previously.

SchoolCafé is the District's online meal management platform. It allows parents to securely make online payments, monitor student lunch account balances, view meal purchases and payments, and set up low-balance email alerts.

Family Communications helps keep families connected with the information they need throughout the school year. Here you will find important updates, alerts, and communication tools to help you stay informed and engaged.

In preparation for the 2026-2027 school year, all schools will host orientations and open houses. These events allow parents, guardians, and students to tour the buildings and learn about their child’s school before the first day.

To streamline your back-to-school experience, we've created a comprehensive Back-to-School Center Supply List for our students in kindergarten through eighth grade and their families. It includes detailed school supply lists for each grade level.

Teacher assignments for elementary students, grades K-5, will be announced in early August. The district waits until this time to ensure balanced class sizes.
