Title I Reading

The Elizabethtown Area School District provides federally funded Title I reading services at Bear Creek School and East High Street Elementary School. The Title I program is designed to provide supplemental reading instruction and targeted support to eligible students who would benefit from additional literacy instruction beyond the regular classroom program.

The goals of the Title I Reading Program are to:

• Provide additional reading instruction to help students become proficient readers.
• Address the individual learning needs of each student through targeted intervention and support.

Students are identified for Title I services through multiple literacy assessments administered throughout the school year. Parents and guardians are notified when their child qualifies for the program and are encouraged to partner with the District in supporting their child's reading development.
