EASD's Plan for Success

Looking Ahead: How EASD Is Supporting Every Learner in 2026-2027

As we prepare for the 2026-2027 school year, a great deal has been happening throughout the summer. Our administrative teams have been planning for the year ahead, teachers have been participating in professional learning, and our operations staff has been hard at work preparing our buildings and classrooms. Every effort has been focused on one thing, making sure we're ready to welcome students back for another successful school year on Monday, August 31.

Behind all of this work is a shared purpose. Our mission is to inspire and support every learner to reach their fullest potential through rigorous academics, personal growth, and meaningful connections that prepare them to contribute responsibly and thrive in a changing world.

That mission isn't just a statement, it serves as the foundation for the decisions we make, the goals we set, and the work happening in our schools every day.

This year, much of that work is guided by our district's Comprehensive Plan, which identifies four key priorities that will help us continue improving outcomes for students:

  • Implementing a consistent K-12 Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) so every student receives the academic and behavioral support they need.
  • Increasing student engagement in learning by creating classrooms where students feel connected, challenged, and motivated to succeed.
  • Strengthening instructional quality, rigor, and academic engagement to ensure every student has access to high-quality learning experiences.
  • Using data-informed practices to identify student needs early, guide instructional decisions, and provide timely support.

While each of these priorities is important on its own, they are most effective when they work together. Strong instruction, meaningful supports, thoughtful use of data, and engaged learners all play a role in helping every student reach their fullest potential.

Over the next several weeks, our EASD's Plan for Success series will take a closer look at how these priorities come to life in our schools. Throughout August, we'll explore:

  • Implementing MTSS: How a consistent Multi-Tiered System of Supports helps ensure every student receives the right support at the right time.
  • Data-Informed Decision Making: How teachers use student data to inform instruction, monitor progress, and help every learner grow.
  • Engaging Families: How strong partnerships between schools and families create the best opportunities for student success.

We hope this series provides a better understanding of the work happening across our district and how these efforts directly benefit our students. Just as importantly, we hope it highlights the important role families play as partners in helping every learner succeed.

Thank you for your continued support of the Elizabethtown Area School District. We look forward to welcoming our students back for another year of learning, growth, and opportunity.

Sincerely,

Tom Strickler
Superintendent of Schools
