2026-2027 General Fund Budget Adopted
Following several months of planning, public presentations, and discussion, the Board adopted the 2026-2027 General Fund Budget during its June Workshop Meeting. The approved budget includes a 4.3% tax increase, with 2.5% dedicated to future building projects and 1.8% supporting the District's general operating budget.
Why It Matters
The annual budget is one of the Board's most significant responsibilities and establishes how District resources will be invested in students, staff, educational programs, facilities, and daily operations. By dedicating a portion of the tax increase toward future building projects, the Board is taking a proactive approach to long-term facility planning while continuing to fund the educational programs and services that support student success.
Resources
Authorization for Summer District Operations
The Board authorized the administration to conduct necessary District business, including personnel actions and payment of routine obligations, between regularly scheduled Board meetings. All actions remain subject to formal Board ratification at the August meeting.
Why It Matters
Because the Board does not hold a regular meeting in July, this annual authorization ensures the District can continue operating without interruption while maintaining Board oversight. All actions taken during this period are presented to the Board for formal approval at its next regular meeting.
Looking Ahead
During August, the Board will begin receiving updates on the financial status of the new fiscal year and continue monitoring expenditures to ensure District resources remain aligned with Board priorities.
Policy
The Policy Committee reviews Board policies to ensure District governance remains current, legally compliant, and aligned with educational best practices.
