I can’t believe that it is the end of the school year already! Where has the year gone? I have really enjoyed getting to work with everyone this year. Have a great summer!

    1st/2nd

We did a Breakout Box today. It is similar to an Escape Room. They had to find clues, solve puzzles, and work together to unlock all of the locks to get into the box. They did a great job. At the end of the time together, we had a few snacks too.

    3rd

We also completed a Breakout Box today. We had our End-of-Year celebration and ate some snacks while watching a slideshow from the year. They took the entire time to solve the puzzles for the Breakout Box, but they were able to complete the entire thing. Great job!

Today we had everyone with us, so we all had a chance to build a friend for Milo. At the end of class they shared their creations and showed us what it was programmed to do. We had some very creative results!

    1st/2nd

Today we continued working on the pop-up books. A few students are almost finished! We will try to finish them when we meet again later this week so that we can share them next week.

    3rd

We finished and shared our projects today! There were many creative instruments. Each student that created an instrument also needed to write a song for it and perform it for the class. They did a nice job. The water slide also turned out very well. We had a little time to work with the WeDo kits and begin designing a rover friend for Milo.

    1st/2nd

Today we worked on creating a page for our pop-up books. Some students found that they needed to complete some more research, others looked for pictures to print out for their pop-up piece, and a few even drew their own pictures.

    3rd

They finished their Mystery Build projects today and shared them with our class. We had two rockets that could launch without being directly touched, a swing set that could hold a little doll, and marble runs. Great job!

    1st/2nd

We continued working on our pop-up books. Some students needed to finish researching, while others planned their books and sketched the pages. A few students began creating the actual pages of their pop-up book.

    3rd

Today we were finally able to watch Kevin’s rover presentation! The other groups wanted to present again, so we got to enjoy their presentations as well. They are planning on presenting in their regular classrooms too. We even had a little time to work on our building projects.

    1st/2nd

We continued researching our topics and then began learning about pop-up books. I showed them a few techniques on Robert Sabuda’s website, they practiced making them, and then some of them selected pictures for me to print for their book.

    3rd

We began a new project today called Mystery Build. They drew a design challenge card at random and then planned their project based on those requirements. They could use any of our supplies. Some of them chose to work with a partner and others chose to work alone. We began building their designs today.
