Degrees and Certifications:
Welcome to Our String Family!
Instrumental music lessons take place once per 6-day cycle for 30-minutes. At the beginning of the year, students will be assigned a lesson time and are expected to come prepared for their lesson each cycle. At each lesson, students will write their playing assignments on their practice charts, which must be signed by a parent/ guardian each cycle to verify practice time. Throughout the year students will participate in Orchestra Karate and earn belts for their completion of assignments and receive stamps to earn prizes for attendance and getting practice charts signed. Students can earn extra stamps for performing in out of school concerts on their instrument!
If your child forgets their instrument, they should come to lessons anyway! I may have an instrument they can borrow. If he/she knows they cannot come to a lesson or that they will be unprepared, they should let me know ahead of time. Students wishing to be rescheduled must have a pass from the teacher. Please help your child remember to bring his/her instrument and music folder to school on the correct day.
Most instrument cases look alike, so your child may place a distinguishing item on the handle of the case (ex. Ribbon, tag, handkercheif) so that he/she will be able to identify the case easily. Also, be sure to label the case with his/her name and homeroom teacher.
