Marley and Mia Earn Awards at Hershey Story History Writing Contest!
Marley Stauffer was one of eight students honored at the "Business Partners in Education Annual Breakfast" at the Hershey Lodge on April 18. She was awarded 1st place for her non-fiction entry called "1688 - A Light Begins to Shine" which recognizes her ancestor Francis Daniel Pastorius. Her writing piece was submitted to the Annual History Contest for Young Writers sponsored by the Hershey Story Museum. Mia Stahlman earned 2nd place in the fiction division for her entry: Come Home: A Fictional Story of the Horrific Act of Terrorism on the World Trade Center, the Date of 9/11/2001. Several students from Bear Creek School entered this competitive contest, to which over 300 entries were submitted.The winning entries are posted on the following website:
