Steven G. Barraclough
Mr. Barraclough is now in his twentieth year as the Director of Bands at Elizabethtown Area High School. He also teaches keyboarding, electronic music and middle school brass sectionals. A native of Brockway, PA, he holds a B.S. in Music Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and has done graduate work through Wilkes University. Mr. Barraclough has participated in wind conducting master classes with Mr. Dennis Fisher from the University of North Texas. While at IUP, Mr. Barraclough was a member of the IUP Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band and Tubaphonium Ensemble. He studied tuba with Dr. Gary Bird and Dr. Timothy Northcutt. In addition to the IUP ensembles, Mr. Barraclough was a founding member of the Keystone Winds under the direction of Dr. Jack Stamp.
Prior to joining the EASD staff, Mr. Barraclough taught at Laurel High School in Laurel, MD and Scotland School for Veteran's Children in Scotland, PA. He has done adjudication and clinician work for the NFL's Baltimore Ravens Marching Band. Mr. Barraclough's professional affiliations include Lancaster-Lebanon Music Educators Association, Pennsylvania Music Educators Association, National Association for Music Education and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
Prior to teaching, Mr. Barraclough served six years in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Barraclough lives in Elizabethtown with his wife Michelle and two daughters, Jessica and Kathryn.
