SOCIOLOGY
This course is a study of various aspects of social organization, behavior, and other characteristics. While primarily focused on American society, students will take a broad look at society and the various factors that influence its development. Comparisons will be drawn between American and other cultures. Students will analyze the effects of socialization, stratification, deviance, and inequalities within a society. Critical thinking about social behaviors, social categories, and sociological perspectives will be encouraged throughout the course.
Course curriculum *As of 2021-2022, this curriculum is being actively revised and restructured to align with ASA standards and to focus specifically on sociology and not broadly at the social sciences.
