ENROLLING A STUDENT
To be eligible for enrollment in Elizabethtown Area schools, students must reside within the boundaries of the Elizabethtown Area School District and have attained the chronological age of five (5) years on or prior to September 1. Elizabethtown Area School District uses an online registration program which allows parent/guardians to input student information from their home, office, library or any other location (Paper packets are NO longer available). In order to complete the online registration process you must have an email account. In addition, you must complete the online registration form and bring the required documentation with you to your registration appointment. REGISTRATIONS ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY and can be scheduled by contacting the Student Registration Office at 717-361-4893 within 48 hours of completing the online registration form. If you do not have access to a computer or have an email account please contact the Registration Office.
The following documentation is required for registration of your child:
- Immunization Record. A list of immunization requirements can be found on our website.
- Child's Birth Certificate
- Proof of Residency in the Elizabethtown Area School District. A listing of accepted documents for proof of residency can be found by CLICKING HERE.
- Photo identification of the parent/guardian (drivers license or state-issued ID only).
- Custody Papers
- Helpful tips for Parents/Guardians enrolling a high school student(s)
You may also want to share any other documentation which you feel is pertinent to your child. (IEP; child's past and current report card as well as any applicable transcripts if the child has previously attended another school; or custody papers.)
The district will proceed with registration of your child only if the above mentioned documents and a completed online registration form are submitted electronically to the Student Registration Office. It typically takes 2-3 days before your child can begin school once the online form and required documentation are received and finalized. Please be aware the district can not proceed with your registration unless all of the above documents are presented. If you do not have a copy of the immunization record, you will need to obtain this from either your family physician or your previous school district. Your child's immunization record can be faxed to the Student Registration Office at (717) 361-1842.
