    k      Tour de Cure 2011

     I was born in....
    Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

    I went to school/college.....
Attended Central Dauphin East High School / Messiah College
Received my Masters Degree from Penn State

    My family...
I live in the Harrisburg area with my wife, 2 daughters, dog and cat.

When I was in elementary school....
I played sports and games all the time.  If I wasn't physically active, I was not happy!

If I were not a teacher...
I would have to be working in a fitness or sports area.  I can't imagine a profession that doesn't revolve around physical activity.

    I became a teacher because...
I love helping children develop a love of learning.
Everyone has something that interests them and causes them to reach for more knowledge.
I love helping students find that one thing.

    My favorite teacher was...
Dr. Graber.  He was my HS math teacher and my head football coach.  He believed in me and was the first person to tell me I would be a good teacher.

    I am interested in...
Cycling, I ride my bike every chance I  get.  It is great for fitness and see a lot of territory and beautiful scenery.
My favorite sports teams are the Philadelphia Phillies, Cleveland Indians and Philadelphia Eagles.
I love anything related to cycling (Tour de France)
I have been reading a lot of World War II books.

    I love to vacation...
In Vermont.  It is my absolute favorite state in any season.
Camels Hump, VT 4081 Feet Elevation

    My favorite food...
Pizza and subs. But I have a soft spot for dark chocolate too.

I would most like to meet....
Cal Ripken Jr.  Former shortstop for the Baltimore Orioles.  He is considered the 'Iron Man' of baseball.  He played in 2632 consecutive games without ever taking a game off.  The streak started on May 30, 1982 and ended September 20, 1998, over 16 years later.  His work ethic and dedication to his team and profession are an inspiration.
