Senior Information Page: End of Year Dates

  • To the Class of 2020 and families, you deserve every opportunity to commemorate the culmination of thirteen years of formal public education as each and every class has done prior to you. While we may not be able to meet as one large class with a prom, senior awards program, baccalaureate, and formal graduation ceremony, we remain committed to offering you a chance to celebrate these end-of-year traditions as best we can be given the current global health crisis. While we'd much rather say our goodbyes in person, you have earned the right to celebrate these milestones with your family. The high school administration has been working with members of the senior class to plan activities related to the school calendar and senior-related milestones:


    PROM - MAY 2, 2020

    • Postponed
    • EAHS administration is exploring options in the event the Commonwealth lifts both the stay-at home order and the ban on large social gatherings in the near future.




    • The live in-person ceremony held in the high school auditorium has been canceled.
    • The ceremony will be presented on May 20, 2020, via a pre-recorded video posted on the school website for viewing.
    • Subsequent paperwork associated with the award or scholarship will be forthcoming directly to the student via the school administration and counseling office.




    • Senior class officers, along with the advisor, have worked with the St. Paul's United Methodist Church to create a live stream, with some pre-recorded sections, to broadcast Baccalaureate at the time of the original ceremony (7 p.m.)  
    • A link will be placed on EASD website for viewing once it is available.




    • The live in-person ceremony held at LCBC has been canceled.
    • The ceremony will be presented via a pre-recorded video on June 2, 2020, at 7 p.m. on the school district website.
    • Key dates to facilitate the pre-recorded Video and Commencement Celebration:
      • May 7: Signs will be placed (between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m.) in the yards of our seniors saluting the Class of 2020.
      • May 12: Cap and Gown distribution in high school bus loop area (see schedule below). Students should drive around to bus loop, remain in their car, give last name and cap and gown will be distributed to each student.
        • 8 a.m. -9 a.m. - Seniors with last names beginning with A-E (Mr. Gibbs)
        • 9 a.m. - 10 a.m. - Seniors with last names beginning with F-K (Ms. Robinson)
        • 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. - Seniors with last names beginning with L-R (Ms. Gillette)
        • 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. - Seniors with last names beginning with S-Z (Ms. Hershey)
      • May 15, 18 & 19: Students should report to the stage at the Elizabethtown Fairgrounds at their designated time (see link below) to be recorded receiving their diploma for the virtual ceremony to be aired June 2, 2020, at 7 p.m.
      • June 2: Pre-recorded Commencement video will be aired on the District website inclusive of student and administrator speeches; announcement of the valedictorian and salutatorian; and the awarding of diplomas.
    • Safety Guidelines to participate in the Commencement program
      • Masks: The graduate will be permitted to remove his/her mask when walking across the stage. Family members not wearing masks will not be permitted to leave their car.
      • Family Members: Each student is able to along bring up to four (4) immediate family members.
      • Vehicles: Each student/family may only have ONE car on the premises.
        • Student and family MUST remain in car until directed to head to the stage
        • Students and families WILL NOT be allowed to get out of the car prior to being directed to the stage.
      • Parking: Student should park in the designated area (look for the parking attendant to direct you)
      • Awarding of the Diploma: When directed by staff, each student in their cap and gown will go to the stage area and wait for his/her name to be called.  Each student will then walk across the stage and pick up diploma cover from the table, pose for a picture, and continue off stage to his/her car.
      • Pictures: Family members and graduate will be directed to a designated area to take a picture  and immediately return to the car.
      • Departure: Students and their families will be asked to leave the premises after a student has walked across the stage and taken their family picture in the designated area.




    • All obligations must be returned/fulfilled at designated time.  When all obligations are met, his/her diploma will be handed to the student.  Each senior will be sent a list of all items that will need to be returned (chromebook, case, charger, sport’s uniform, money obligations, textbooks, instruments, etc) through email and mail.   
    • Student will need to bring list with him/her on this day to be checked at each station of item to be returned

      • 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Last Name M-Q

      • 3 p.m. - 4 p.m. Last Name W-Z
