STEM Bowls are fast-paced quiz bowl-style competitions, complete with sophisticated buzzers, designed to showcase and apply 3rd, 4th and 5th-grade students’ knowledge of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).

Today four 5th-graders represented Bear Creek School in the Lancaster-Lebanon Elementary STEM Bowl that included 14 teams/56 students. The Quizzly Bears team was comprised of the following students: Adam Crick, Noah Farmer, Ryan Wagner, and Gabriel Warburton. They participated in 6 quiz-bowl style contests and 2 design-build challenges.  The two teams with the highest number of points participated in a final match at the close of the event.  They went head-to-head against Warwick, in front of everyone. THEY WON in a tight match with a score of 105-100!!  Warwick School District earned 2nd place. Donegal School District earned 3rd place.  We are grateful to the many fifth grade classmates that participated in the team's practice sessions.
