Welcome to the District's Building Project webpage for phase three of the District's four-phase building program. Phase three is focused on Rheems and Mill Road Elementary Schools. The school directors commenced conversations on phase three in the spring of 2017. The District designed this page to keep stakeholders informed on the status of the discussions, provide quick access to past presentations, and share opportunities for future participation by constituents geared explicitly toward this phase of our building program. As is the case in all of our projects, our goal is to be transparent, fiscally responsible, and plan every project with great consideration of the impact it has on the students, staff, and community of Elizabethtown. CURRENT STATUS
Rheems Elementary- On Wednesday, November 9, 2022, the Elizabethtown Area School District held a public auction to sell Rheems Elementary School. Bidding on the property met the minimum level established by the school directors. Thus, the property sold to the highest bidder. CLICK HERE for more details.
Mill Road Elementary
- On Wednesday, November 9, 2022, the Elizabethtown Area School District held a public auction to sell Mill Road Elementary School and a small parcel of land next to Mill Road Elementary. Bidding on the properties met the minimum level established by the school directors. Thus, the properties sold to the highest bidder. CLICK HERE for more details.

The following Guiding Principles were used to help district administration and the school directors lead the conversation on the best possible solution for both schools.- Population density of our students
- Geographic location of our schools
- The elementary population as a whole
- Building capacity, age, and conditions of our schools
- Equity of our educational offerings at each building

- Maximizing the efficiencies of our operations and schools
- Finanical impacts district-wide
