In addition to his knowledge of the school district, community, and its students, Templin brings vast experience in the world of interscholastic athletics. He was the high school’s head coach for baseball for three years (2016-18). He also served as an assistant coach in baseball(2005-2015). When not coaching, Templin has played a key support role for the department during his years at Elizabethtown serving as co-assistant athletic director, a game manager, scorekeeper, and member of the security team since 2006.

Templin was chosen by a team of district-level and school administration, board members, and current EAHS coaches.

“I’m looking forward to working in this new role and to continue to grow our athletic and extracurricular activities in the district,” Templin said.

Templin will begin his work in the athletic office on Jan. 8. A transition plan has being developed to transfer Templin out of his teaching role and into his new role as Director of Athletics to minimize any disruptions to the classroom at the the high school.

Templin holds a bachelor of science degree from Kutztown University and master of education from Penn State University.
