Alternate Bus Stop Requests

  • Alternate Care Transportation

Elizabethtown Area School District allows student’s parents to request school transportation be provided to/from an alternate site in place of the student’s residence. An alternate site is a babysitter’s residence, daycare center, or other facility where parents drop off or pick up their child each school day. If parents wish to request alternate transportation for their child, they must complete the Alternate Care Transportation Request form and comply with the following conditions:

    1. The alternate site must be located within Elizabethtown Area School District boundaries and for elementary school students, be located within their assigned school’s attendance zone.
    2. Parents may only identify one alternative stop for each bus route (one AM, one PM) and forgo having their child transported to their residence for that school bus run.
    3. The alternate stop must be for an existing school bus route at a designated school bus stop and the school bus must have capacity to add the student as a passenger.
    4. Parents may select a different site for the AM and PM bus run, however, once those choices are made, those sites cannot be changed, swapped or altered.
    5. Request forms must be completed each school year, approved requests will not carry over from one school year to the next.
    6. If extenuating circumstances exist and mid-year changes are sought, a new request form must be submitted to the transportation office for consideration.
    7. Requests must be for five days a week Monday-Friday.
