Four teams of students from Elizabethtown Area School District placed first in Pennsylvania Destination ImaginNation tournament and are now eligible to compete at the global finals to be held in Knoxville, TN later this spring.
Twenty-nine students from Elizabethtown Area High School were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS). Local chapters of the NTHS celebrate career and technology center students for academic achievement and a commitment to learning.
Elizabethtown Area School District recently held its 2016 Staff Recognition and Retirement Banquet. In total, three faculty members were honored with EASD awards while three retiring faculty members and one retiring administrator were saluted for their dedication and service to the district.
Elizabethtown Area High School seniors Katie Gizzi and Christopher Bair were named the Elizabethtown Rotary Club’s students of month for April. Gizzi and Bair were honored for their high academic achievement and extensive involvement in school and community service activities.
Elizabethtown Area High School principal Dan Serfass, assistant principal Robert Crick, and assistant principal Dr. Lyn Shaffer have announced the honor roll for the third marking period of the 2015-2016 school year. For students to achieve honor roll they are required to attain a minimum non-weighted grade point average (GPA) of 94% with no grade lower than 85%.
Twelve students from Elizabethtown Area High School and four from Elizabethtown Area Middle School recently performed at the 2016 Lancaster Lebanon Music Educators Association (LLMEA) All County Orchestra Festival.
Elizabethtown Area High School’s Science Olympiad Team recently competed in the regional Science Olympiad tournament held at Millersville University. The 16-member team took part in 23 total events in the areas of biology, chemistry, engineering, environmental science, physics, and science writing.
Students from the Elizabethtown School District recently took part in the National History Day (NHD) regional competition at Manheim Township School District. High school juniors Aparna Paul and Katy Shank both took home awards in the highly regarded academic program.
