A team of students from Elizabethtown Area High School recently won the Lancaster-Lebanon League Quiz Bowl Championship. The Bears, seeded fourth in the tournament, defeated second-seeded Lancaster Mennonite High School by a score of 365-220.
As part of their core communication class, 125 sophomores from Elizabethtown Area High School recently took part in the school’s annual Mock Interview Day. With more than 33 local business and community leaders sitting on the other side of the table, the students had a chance to sharpen their interview and job-readiness skills.

Bill McDonald was approved by the Elizabethtown Area School District’s board of school directors to be the Bears new varsity football coach replacing Mike Cottle who resigned at the end of this past season.
Elizabethtown Area School District band students Kyra Buettner, Nicole Faiola and Stacie Savoca recently took part in the prestigious 2015 Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 7 Band Festival held at Conestoga Valley High School in January.
Elizabethtown Area High School seniors Katherine Suchanec and Derek Flick were named the Elizabethtown Rotary Club’s Students of Month for February. Suchanec and Flick were honored for their high academic achievement and extensive involvement in school and community service activities.
Two Elizabethtown Area High School teams recently competed at the 31st annual Harrisburg Area Community College Computer Programming Competition. The two-person team of seniors Aaron Becker and Corby Rider had a strong showing placing fourth out of a field of 21 teams.
Four students from Elizabethtown Area High School will have their photojournalism pictures published in Lancaster Newspaper’s Newspaper In Education tabloid on March 3.
For the fifth consecutive year and sixth time in seven years, Elizabethtown Area High School captured first place in the academically-challenging “We the People” state finals.
EAHS will present the Tony Award winning musical comedy, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee Tuesday, March 3 through Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 7:00 pm and again Saturday, March 7 at 1:00 pm in the Elizabethtown Area Middle School auditorium.
