Fifth Grade Mathematics

Subject Area at a Glance

EASD’s elementary mathematics philosophy is that through instruction, differentiation and the use of manipulatives all students can be successful in mathematics and reach their maximum potential.  The curriculum focuses on the 11 strands of standards that describe what students should know and be able to do by the time they exit elementary school, middle school and high school.  Students who demonstrate proficiency of these standards will be able to communicate mathematically and be able to use their knowledge to organize and understand information in other subjects.
