Rheems Elementary School held its Jump Rope For Heart campaign to benefit the American Heart Association (AHA). With music pumping and kids jumping, the school raised $8,183 for the fight against heart disease and strokes.
The Elizabethtown Area School District and GEARS are teaming up to support Camp Ladybug, a camp for individuals who have mental and/or physical challenges. Now in its fifth year, the charity game has netted over $6,000 for local programs.
The faculty and administration of Elizabethtown Area High School recently took part in the national “Giving Tuesday” initiative, which is in response to the commercialism and consumerism of this time of year. Giving Tuesday is dedicated to giving back to your community.
Rheems Elementary School third graders brought Halloween spirit and their favorite storybook characters to life as they paid a visit to the senior citizens at the Rheems Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. While at the center, the students paraded through the facility dressed in their storybook costumes giving Halloween greetings.
Elizabethtown Area High School’s Mini-Thon committee will be hosting a corn maze on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 5-9 p.m. The event will be held at Brubaker Farm, located at 1035 Union School Road in Mount Joy.
Rheems Elementary School recently welcomed the NED Show to its stage for a multi-sensory lesson in character development. The program used humor, story telling, yo-yo tricks, rope magic, and balloon art to motivate and inspire students to be “Champions” in school and in life.
In a scene that played out all across the district's four primary elementary schools, today the 218 members of the incoming kindergarten class (Class of 2029) were greeted by the smiling faces of school administration, specialists and kindergarten teachers as they arrived for their first day of school.
