Elizabethtown Area School District students recently exceled at the regional Math 24 Challenge held in Lancaster. In a highly competitive environment that featured some of the areas best young mathematicians, fourteen out of the sixteen students from Elizabethtown were table winners at their respective grade levels with seven placing in the top 16 in their division.
The Elizabethtown Area School District chess team placed fourth out of ten private and public schools in the Friendship Chess League Tournament. Now in its 43rd year, the Friendship Chess League is open to students in grades 5-8.

Two teams of students from Elizabethtown Area School District won first place in Pennsylvania Destination ImaginNation tournament and qualified to advance to the Global Finals to be held in Knoxville, TN later this spring.
The Elizabethtown Area School District and GEARS are teaming up to support Camp Ladybug, a camp for individuals who have mental and/or physical challenges. Now in its fifth year, the charity game has netted over $6,000 for local programs.
To help brighten the holidays for families in need, the Bear Creek School recently held its annual Holiday Giving Tree program. As part of this annual tradition, the school’s faculty, staff and students as well as community members purchased suggested gifts for families who could use the help this season of giving.
