Getting Your Business Involved

The PATHWAYS program at Elizabethtown Area SchoolDistrict is designed to prepare students to reach their post-secondaryeducational and career goals. A key to the success of the program isinvolving community members and businesses to offer students learningopportunities beyond the traditional classroom. If you or your place ofemployment would be interested in receiving additional informationregarding any of the programs, please complete and return the survey below.
  • Career Shadow Mentor - A student is placed in a business or organization to shadow an employee for one day
  • CareerInternship Mentor - A students spends a minimum of five unpaid hoursper week at a job site to learn about a particular industry oroccupation
  • CooperativeWork Experience Mentor - A student receives one credit for a weeklyminimum of ten paid hours of on-the-job training up to a maximum offour credits per year
  • CompanyTours/Site Visits - The company provides an opportunity forapproximately 25 students to visit a company, meet employers, and learnmore about career opportunities
  • PathwaysCareer Fair (8th Grade only) - An employee will present 3 minuteoverviews of their career to students followed by an informal Q&Abreakout session
  • PathwaysMock Interview (10th Grade only) - An employee will simulate aninterview with 3-4 students to provide practice & feedback to thestudent regarding his/her interviewing skills
  • Assistin Classroom - This may include being a guest speaker, evaluatingstudent projects, and assisting with employability skills
  • Service Learning - Students earn credit for providing hands-on community service
