  • EAHS Holds Commencement Program for the Class of 2016

    Congratulations to Elizabethtown Area High School’s Class of 2015. Amidst much fanfare, the 283 graduating seniors, clad in the traditional blue and white robes, walked across the stage to receive their diplomas during this year’s commencement program held on June 8.

  • Elizabethtown Area High School seniors honored at awards banquet

    Elizabethtown Area High School held its annual senior awards banquet for the Class of 2016 on Wednesday, May 26 at Elizabethtown Area High School. At the ceremony, 69 members of the senior class were honored with 70 scholarships and awards.

  • Mill Road Elementary students chalk the walk

    Mill Road Elementary School third graders recently held a chalk walk to celebrate the completion of a reading challenge that began in March. Using bright, vibrant colors, the students from Tina Tuell’s class illustrated the children’s book - The Trouble with Chickens - on the blacktop behind the school using sidewalk chalk.

  • Our Free Library Opens at Elizabethtown Schools

    This spring, Elizabethtown Area Schools launched its Our Free Library program throughout the school district. Modeled after the national Little Free Libraries initiative, the Our Free Library program is a community book exchange utilizes the “take-a-book, leave-a-book” concept popular in coffee shops and public spaces.

  • East High Street elementary students pay tribute to America’s heroes

    First Graders at East High recently welcomed over 100 Heroes to their “Hooray for Heroes” program. The students learned about three famous American women from history. The children read biographies for Amelia Earhart, Helen Keller, and Ruby Bridges. Each student created a project and retold the story of these heroes.

  • EAHS Orchestra wins prestigious award at Hershey Theater Apollo Awards

    Elizabethtown Area High School’s Pit Orchestra recently took home one of the top honors at the 2016 Hershey Theater Apollo Awards. The orchestra, under the direction of Mr. Cody Floyd, won Outstanding Orchestra for its performance in Cinderella.

  • Local students win prizes in American Legion Essay Contest

    Thee students from the Bear Creek School received awards in the annual American Legion Auxiliary essay contest. The contest promoted patriotism by offering students a chance to share their ideas in writing. This year’s contest - What Does Freedom Mean to My Family - was open to students in grades 3-12.

  • EAHS Puts the Books Aside to Perform School-wide Community Service Projects

    On Friday, May 27, the students, faculty, administration, and staff of Elizabethtown Area High School left their classrooms and put their books and computers aside to perform a multitude of community service activities in their school and in the community.

  • Young Authors Share Writings at East High Street Elementary

    East High Street Elementary School recently celebrated the writings of its second graders by holding its annual Young Authors Tea. As part of the festivities, parents and family members of the students were invited to the school to listen to their child read his or her self-illustrated autobiography

  • Ancient Historical Figures to Come to Life in Living History Museum

    Bear Creek School sixth graders have been learning about ancient world history including the Egyptian, Greek, Roman and Persian empires. On Thursday, May 26, they brought their learning to life as part of the school’s Living History Museum.
